Now by better quality that doesn't mean this a bad product, there are just some imperfections here and there that I'm sure is common in popup books. The pages need to be very flat or else the buildings won't stand up as wanted, yet sometimes even if you do manage to make it flat, and believe me you will be scared to push it down too much, some towers and details still need some help to prop correctly.
The photos that I shared displays the issues that I encountered.
First, on the overall design of the book, this is definitely not for children, 100% they will tear the flap connecting stormwind and ironforge that is a mechanism for the big picture mode where all the cities are open and many others. Speaking of that, the seams and folds of the books are prone to tearing on that mode due to all the flipping and folding, which causes the seams to hit other pages. I had a little tear on my ironforge page cause of the hardcover hitting it. I just followed the instructions and it happened. Maybe a few cm of space will help for this to not happen in the future. Also, it is very complicated to open up that way, I do not recommend doing it all the time.
Next, the "Pull" and "Lift" tabs are not very clear. I was pulling on Jaina a few times when I first opened the book and nothing was happening, then I realize I have to pull on the "Pull" text instead. Maybe say "Pull me!" Or "Lift me!" with a different colored background would be more intuitive, especially for kids if they ever get their hands on it.
Some of the characters look awesome when they pop up, but most look bad. Voljin, Genn, and Sylvanas look nice when you reveal then, the smoothness in their popup effect is amazing, and then you get Thrall with his weird flat right hand along with Magni. I guess make characters have a 3D effect but don't have any part of them poking out at a weird angle?
These flaps with the characters don't have a sign saying they have something behind them too, and while it's nice to discover them, I believe it would be better to have a note indicating that there is something behind them since, well, they all have it anyways.
Lastly, I feel very sad that most of the main cities look really uninteresting. Darnassus, Ironforge, and Stormwind looks, eh? The three of them look really, plain? Like Ironforge is just all snow and the inside is purple for some reason and not reddish? Stormwind on the other hand looks flat for some reason.
And then you have Orgrimmar and the Zandalari empire which reflect the vibe of the original cities in the game itself. Zandalari is probably the best looking one for me, but a special mention to Lordaeron for having a pull tab and revealing undercity. That is wild.
Now on to the "defects" in my own copy.
Stormwind looks like some details should be propped up but they aren't. My cathedral's tower needs to be propped up to stand or else it points sideways. Two of the 5 statues at the gate aren't standing even if I try to push them upright(a mechanism is preventing me from doing so), and one side of the castle wall got it's glued side dislodged so now the walls look flimsy.
The burning of teldrassil thingy wasn't opening up, turns out it was glued in a part that it shouldn't be.
This is my last complaint, all the pages in the book has you opening them up completely flat, literally "all" of them, even the character ones, and then you have Thunder Bluff, which should only be opened at a 90 degree angle, which I didn't know because when I was opening it up, it wasn't really showing thunder bluff well enough. So I pulled on it and then it tore on the sides, but now I can see that it definitely is Thunder Bluff. But due to the sides tearing, I now have to manually prop the buildings for Thunder Bluff to appear. This is a huge design oversight in my opinion, and they didn't even feature the elevators on the shot.
Overall I am still happy with the purchase, but it has definitely been soured by many oversights in both the design and production process.
